Ages 7 to 11. Young artists create their own 11×14 canvas to take home in this guided painting class inspired by Alma Thomas, the celebrated Black American painter and art teacher known for her joyful mosaics of color. We focus on color mixing, building rhythm and pattern with small dabs and stripes, and seeing how many little marks come together into one bright, beautiful whole. Every step is instructor led, so painters of all levels finish with a piece they are proud of. All supplies included. Morning or afternoon session, 3.5 hours, no more than 5 students. Please note this is a guided art workshop designed for children who are excited to create, not a drop-off childcare service.
